Delete your A Plate in Time account
A Plate in Time is published by Flintbury Labs Limited. You can delete your account and its data at any time, from the website, the app or by email. You don’t need the app installed. You are signed out straight away, and deletion is completed within 30 days. To delete only some of your data and keep your account, see Delete some of your data.
On the website
- Sign in at aplateintime.com.
- Open the menu under your name and choose Profile.
- Scroll to “Delete your account” and choose Delete my account.
- Confirm with your password, or with a 6-digit code we email you. Accounts that sign in with Google or Apple always use the emailed code.
In the iOS or Android app
- Open the More tab.
- Tap Delete my account, at the bottom of the screen.
- Confirm with your password, a 6-digit code we email you, or, on iPhone, Sign in with Apple.
By email, without the app
- Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete my account”.
- We reply to check the request came from you, then delete the account.
A subscription bought on our website is cancelled when you delete your account. A subscription bought in the app is billed by the App Store or Google Play, and deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it first in your device’s subscription settings, or in the app under More → Subscription.
- your name, email address, handle, profile and sign-in details, which are anonymised;
- your profile photo;
- your Private, Family and Followers recipes and images;
- your place in any Family Table you belong to (Family Tables you own are archived, and their members lose access);
- usage events recorded while you were signed in;
- your sessions, so you are signed out on every device.
- Public recipes stay visible with your name removed, so other people’s bookmarks and adaptations keep working. To remove one, delete it or make it Private before you delete your account.
- Purchase and subscription records are kept for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting.
- Reports you made about other people’s content are kept for moderation, but no longer linked to you.
- Server logs and error reports are kept only as long as necessary to keep the Platform secure and working, then deleted. Backups are kept for 14 days.
- Apple, Google and Stripe keep their own records of purchases under their own policies, and copies of shared recipes that other people saved are outside our control.
You don’t have to delete your account to delete your data. Once you’re signed in, you can delete these yourself at any time:
- A recipe
- Delete it from Manage Recipes in your cookbook. Private, Family and Followers recipes and their images are permanently deleted within 30 days.
- A recipe photo
- Remove it in the recipe editor. The rest of the recipe stays.
- A comment
- Choose Delete on your comment.
- Bookmarks and collections
- Remove them from Bookmarked and Collections.
- Who you follow
- Unfollow people from Socials, where you can also block a follower.
- A Family Table
- Choose Leave table on your Family Table page.
- Your bio and marketing emails
- Clear your bio and turn off marketing emails on your Profile. Your name and handle stay while you have an account, but you can set who sees your name to “Only me”.
To delete anything else, such as your usage events or the records of your AI requests, email [email protected] from the address on your account, with the subject “Delete some of my data”. Tell us what you want deleted. We check the request came from you, delete the data and keep your account, and normally reply within one month. The exceptions under What we keep still apply.
